Cribbs Hill Road, Elphinstone 

Vision: The owners of this farm wanted a modern country house that beautifully integrated with the landscape. 

Approach: Our solution was to create an L-shape structure around a central garden, with one wing hosting the living rooms, and the other, bedrooms. Large windows feature at the front entrance and throughout each wing, which offer surprising views into the courtyard and countryside. 

Outcome: The result is a modern country home that is striking yet contextually appropriate.

“On large country properties, you have so much freedom of space and design, that homes can feel a bit ‘lost’ in the landscape. The key is to contain the build and to work with the landscape to get the size right.”
